About this Elopement in the Austrian Alps
Beatrix and Gabriel reached out to us just six months before their wedding day, excitedly planning to host twenty of their closest family members in the beautiful Austrian Alps to help them tie the knot, they envisioned scenic mountain views, a relaxed vibe, good food, and quality time with their favorite people. This sweet couple loves hiking, traveling, and being outdoors, so it was only natural that they opt to adventure out of their home in Germany and take advantage of the greenery and mountain views that an Austrian Alps intimate wedding provides.
We were absolutely honored when they mentioned that they had originally intended to spend less on their wedding coverage, but decided to change their plans when they found our work: “we looked at your feed on Instagram again this morning and really love your pictures so much, so we’d rather go a little over our budget and have pictures that we really like.”
Finding the perfect photographer and videographer for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion is so important, we were thrilled that Beatrix and Gabriel prioritized this and chose to bring us along for their intimate destination wedding in Austria!
Wedding Location in the Mountains
Schlögelberger, a log cabin village in the heart of Austria sitting at above 1300 meters, was the perfect venue for this beautiful Austrian Alps wedding. Although Beatrix and Gabriel tied the knot in June, it is worth mentioning that couples looking to get married here can even ski should they plan for a winter wedding date!
Intimate Wedding Ceremony in the Alps
The couple exchanged vows in a beautiful ceremony overlooking the Austrian Alps. Both Beatrix and Gabriel cried as Beatrix’s dad walked her down the aisle, and Beatrix even pinky-swore during her vows that she would always stick by Gabriel’s side. Gabriel’s mom and sister sang and played the piano throughout the ceremony, which was such a sweet and personal touch.
Wedding Photos with Deers? Count us in!
After the romantic ceremony and celebration, we set out to take photos of the newlyweds, and one of the Schlögelberger staff members generously offered for us to take photos with their on-site Deer, Hans! Of course, we had to take her up on this, and had lots of fun documenting Beatrix and Gabriel feeding Hans and posing next to him. The venue offers other unique experiences like this for couples on their intimate Austrian Alps wedding day, such as going for a walk with Alpacas.
Wedding Photos with Lupins
After our wildlife encounter with Hans, Beatrix and Gabriel enjoyed the time with their family, had some delicious cake and just took in every moment. We headed to dinner with the intention to go back out for some sunset shots afterwards, but because there was no sunset showing, we decided to skip out on this. However, during dinner, we switched up the plan last-minute and went out one more time–and we were so glad we did! We stumbled upon the most beautiful field in the mountains, covered in violet and pink lupins, and carefully worked our way around them to capture some beautiful images with the colorful lupins at the forefront and the picturesque mountain huts behind them. The couple emphasized during the planning process of their wedding day in Austria the importance of having couple photos that really showcased the scenery of the Alps, and we’re so happy that we achieved that.
